What is STEP-GTP?
STEP-GTP is a US-based program that provides graduate and post-graduate-level health and science education to pairs of graduate students comprised of one Israeli and one Palestinian. It is administered through the offices of the International Nutrition Foundation at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Who is STEP-GTP for?
Science graduate students or clinicians who want to pursue advanced study in one of the following fields: nutrition, genetics (especially genetic counseling), clinical biochemistry, ophthalmology, diabetology, and health communication. Additional fields of study may be added upon demand.

STEP-GTP is for Israelis and Palestinians committed to obtaining, enhancing and building scientific expertise in their homeland and who pledge to remain as resources to the other member of their training pair after formal education is completed.

STEP-GTP administrative staff will help to pair interested Israeli and Palestinian candidates.

What are the pre-requisites?
An undergraduate degree and/or a graduate degree in a field of science or health from an accredited academic institution.

Fulfillment of the entry requirements of the desired graduate program.

What are the requirements of the program?
Fulfillment of the academic requirements of the graduate program in which you are enrolled.

Each semester STEP-GTP fellows will be required to give a joint presentation to students, faculty and the public.

After the formal training period, STEP-GTP fellows are expected to remain engaged in professional development and capacity building with their training partner.

STEP-GTP fellows are required to return to and work in their home countries for a minimum of two years.

Do graduates of STEP-GTP get a degree?
Upon successful completion of his/her program, each STEP-GTP graduate will get a graduate degree from the accredited academic institution. He/she will also get an additional STEP-GTP Graduate Certificate at each phase of the program.

How is STEP-GTP funded? Who pays tuition?      
STEP-GTP is funded by the participating academic institutions and through grants and private donations. The costs of tuition and a stipend for living expenses are provided by STEP-GTP for each participating student.
